I didn't read past the first paragraph and the phrase "murderous agents of hate", so I accept full responsibility for misrepresenting the sub-editor's stupidity as his own. It was late and I just wanted to draw attention to this bollocks without having the energy to present and substantial analysis of it.
"Terrorism"- the bogey man of the 21st century- is such an abused term that it has become absolutely meaningless to these people in the context of their own actions. Phrases like "continuing to condemn unequivocally the use of torture, never torturing nor ever asking others to torture for us" - are so clearly outright lies, based upon the testimony of people like Craig Murray, that one is consumed by a desire to go through Brown's lecture line-by-line and reveal every little hypocrisy and conceit it contains. Sadly I don't have the time to do it such justice.
To be fair, Brown doesn't employ the phrase in this piece, you can thank a sub editor for that.
ReplyDeleteBut yes, he does talk bollocks, and it's a warmer for more military resources to go to Afghanistan, probably as directed by Obama.
